It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces at the inaugural meeting of the Friends of Howick Primary School. Your engagement and enthusiasm are truly appreciated as we work together to enhance our school community. We're also excited for our first disco of the year this Thursday in the school hall. It promises to be a fantastic and fun-filled event for all our students!

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible dedication of our past PTA Team members and supporters. For many years, their hard work and commitment have been instrumental in supporting our school. It’s because of their tireless efforts that we have a fantastic starting point for our fundraising, having already raised $48,000 towards a shade cover.
|
In my two years as Principal, our PTA parents and teachers have organised a massive number of events, from popular bake sales to the unforgettable 2023 Colour Run and countless discos, with Term 4 disco last year being a particular highlight. It is through their phenomenal hard work that we are so well-positioned to continue working towards the facilities our students and community deserve.

Yi Xing Bilingual and Innovative School Visit
|
It was a pleasure to recently welcome a group of students from Taiwan, accompanied by their principal, teachers, and parents, to Howick Primary School. The students had a fantastic time at our school and integrated wonderfully into classes within our Tui Team. A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers and office team for their incredible support in making this visit a truly memorable learning experience for the students from Taiwan.

Attendance
A huge thank you for the wonderful attendance we've seen at school this term, 86% so far! It makes such a positive difference!

As a friendly reminder, it's a legal requirement in Aotearoa for all children aged 6 to 16 to be enrolled and attend school regularly, ensuring they don't miss out on vital learning and social connections. We understand that sometimes absences are necessary, so please do let us know if your child will be away. If your child is absent please call the school office or email absences@howickprimary.school.nz by 9:15am.
