We're thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Mr Varun Venkataiya, who joins our team as the new teacher in Room 4, welcome to Howick Primary School. Furthermore, I want to express our sincere gratitude to Mrs Currie for her outstanding efforts in nurturing our school's vibrant performance culture. Whaea Katy has lead our kapa haka for many years and, more recently, our Pasifika group. It was exciting to see so many of our students learn and perform for our school and families as a highlight of our Samoan Language Week celebration.

Finally, to better support our families, we're excited to offer a new, more affordable out-of-school care option from 7:45 AM to 8:30 AM for half the regular before-school session. We hope this will be a valuable choice for parents, ensuring your child is in supervised care before school begins. This is important because students are only permitted on-site without supervision from 8:15 AM. We'd like to extend a big thank you to Kelly Club for their flexibility in making this option available.

As a friendly reminder, it's a legal requirement in Aotearoa for all children aged 6 to 16 to be enrolled and attend school regularly, ensuring they don't miss out on vital learning and social connections. We understand that sometimes absences are necessary, so please do let us know if your child will be away. If your child is absent please call the school office or email absences@howickprimary.school.nz by 9:15am.
