PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Mālō e lelei, Howick Primary School whānau,
We are proud of the great opportunities our students are experiencing here at Howick Primary School. From participating in the EPro8 Challenge to delivering speeches in the classroom, joining the HPPA Dance competition, and competing in the HPPA soccer tournament, our tamariki are being exposed to a wide range of activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and leadership. It’s fantastic to see so many students giving their best and thriving in these experiences.
I want to extend a huge thank you to Cara Davidson for her incredible work in leading our HPPA Dance competition group and for organising our recent Howick Primary School Speech Competition. Both events were a huge success and showcased the immense talent and confidence of our tamariki.
It has been wonderful to see the progress of all our students throughout the term. I personally think our job is the best in the world. I want to thank the whole staff team for making our school a great place to be. You may have heard in the news the challenges we face as a profession due to a reliever shortage but even with the challenges of covering illness we have been working hard to provide an excellent education for every child.
On another exciting note, we’re thrilled to announce that the field is partially open! It’s been a long wait, but it’s great to see our kids out there again, running around and making the most of this space. Watching them enjoy themselves, whether playing a game of tag or just kicking a ball around, reminds us of the importance of play in their development.
As always, I’m proud to be part of such a vibrant and diverse community. Thank you all for your ongoing support and involvement in making Howick Primary School a special place.

Before and After School Pick-Up
We’ve noticed some students being encouraged to cross the road on their own. For everyone’s safety, please refrain from calling your child to meet you at your car. Instead, use the Zebra Crossing or go meet them and model safe behaviour by crossing at the Zebra rossing with them.
Thank you for your support.

Reminders
A reminder that children can enter the school grounds from 8:15am.
We have had a number of students arriving before 8am. It is important that students are supervised. Therefore, parents or caregivers of students who need to come onsite earlier than this time should enrol them in SKiDs who can provide supervision until that time.
The link to the SKiDs website can be found here.
